FAQ
How long are the lessons?
Lessons are typically 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on your preference.
Should I bring anything to my lesson?
Students are more than welcome to bring their own guitar, amp, pedals, print outs of favorite songs, etc. to lessons. Students are advised to bring x1 A5 Notebook for practice notes, an A4 file for printouts/exercise sheets. We offer a instrument for students to use during their trial.
Do I need my own guitar or bass?
Yes, having your own instrument is important for practice. If you’re unsure, I’m happy to help you choose the right one. We keep a spare guitar for students to use while they're doing their trial, but we recommend buying one when you're ready to start lessons.
What styles of music can I learn?
I teach a variety of styles, including rock, pop, alternative, blues, and more. Lessons are tailored to your interests.
Can I learn as a complete beginner?
Absolutely! My lessons are designed for all skill levels, including those starting from scratch.
What do I need for online lessons?
You’ll need a guitar or bass, a stable internet connection, and a device with Discord installed. I’ll guide you through the rest during your lesson and will send easy to follow setup guides to get you up and running quickly.
Can I use NDIS funding to pay for my guitar lessons?
Yes – absolutely!
If you're self-managed or plan-managed through the NDIS, you can use your funding for music lessons with us.
Music can support a wide range of goals, including:
🎶 Fine motor skill development
🎶 Confidence & self-expression
🎶 Social engagement and communication
🎶 Emotional regulation
🎶 Building routine and creative outlets
I’ve worked extensively with neurodivergent people—both as a Support Coordinator/Support Worker and as a guitar teacher with students on the autism spectrum (ASD). Lessons are adapted to suit each student’s learning style, pace, and interests.
We provide invoices and progress notes if needed, and most importantly—we make music fun, empowering, and accessible.
Teacher Responsibility & Communication
All our teachers hold current Working With Children Checks and are fully insured, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, professional hands. We also believe in open communication with parents—keeping you informed on lesson progress, practice habits, and anything else that supports your child’s growth.
